Slate needs its own low-profile flashing kit, designed for thin, flat coverings, rather than the kit used on interlocking tiles, and on a Victorian terrace in Hugglescote or Ibstock the opening is trimmed between the existing rafters to suit the window size. Done properly the window sits flush with the slates and stays watertight.
